What are the best times for sunsets?

Either inland or on the beach of Gili Air, dry season or rainy season. The island is home to unbelievable colours throughout different times of the year.

The rainy season: Not as bad as you would think.

From November to March the Gili Islands welcomes the rainy season. The variety and depth of colours are the most astonishing at this time.

Rain occurs mainly in the mornings. Which means afternoons are usually dry. This makes it a perfect opportunity to grab a drink on the beach and admire the sunset. Gili Air will host the most beautiful skies between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. during the rainy season.

The ever-changing clouds make every sunset memorable.

Between the land and the ocean

Our guests at Manta Dive Gili Air always say their experience after a night dive will stay forever in their hearts. It’s the best opportunity to watch the sunset. Not only from Gili Air, but also get to see the coast of Lombok, Gili Trawangan, and Gili Meno.

The boat leaves Gili Air around 5:30 pm to go to Seahorse bay, which is the perfect moment for sunset time. It’s a great opportunity to get to see local people work from their boats and experience the sunset either on the boat or in the water. The dive in itself is quite shallow which is great for seeing the colours of the sunset underwater.
