Fast boat to Gili Air

Boats now run daily from the South of Bali and from Padang Bai, so depending on where you are planning to travel from we can help you pick the right fast boat to Gili Air for you.  Gone are the days where you needed to jump on a fishing boat to get directly to the Gilis! Now there are lots of different reliable fast boats running from Bali to Gili Air.  If however you are on a budget then check prices and book your ticket with one of the budget boat operators.

Fast boat to Gili AirThe total journey times vary from between 2 - 4 hours depending on which boat you are using and where in Bali you are departing from.  Pickup from your hotel in the morning for departures to Gili Air and a return service to your hotel in Bali are included with most fast boat companies.  Please note: fast boats running between Bali and Gili Air usually only depart from Bali in the morning and until noon.  Departures from Gili Air to Bali generally leave around midday, seasonally there are later departures but these can be canceled on occasion when the Lombok Strait develops unsafe conditions on windy days.

Gili Fast boatsCosts are generally the same for all of the reliable companies between Bali and the Gili Islands at around 550-750,000 IDR one way.  The more budget operators come in between 400-500,000 IDR.

There are  two main departure terminals in Bali:  Serangan Harbor (near Sanur and close to the International airport) and Padang Bai (1 1/2 hr drive from Sanur).  Most fast boat companies stop at the harbours on Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Lombok. 

You can also travel to Gili Air from Amed (near famous Tulumban Liberty Wreck), but this is only suitable if you are staying in North East Bali.
